edition, multiple words selection, concordance link, contextual menu removes selection

In Ubuntu, the right click to open the contextual menu of an edition OUTSIDE a sequence of words selected DESELECTS the selection, so it is not possible to call a concordance on the sequence.

Solution

This is a native behavior of the webkit browser.

Don’t use the browser native selection but our own selection API
